Lexmark CS417dn Review – As colour printer go, Lexmark’s CS410dn gets on the small side. It is a fresh design, primarily white with a black top extending over the consumables hatch at the right. At the front, there is a wise colour screen and printer manages with a USB port for direct publishing. However, the screen does not default to an especially useful homepage, prompting you to choose from Setups or Condition instead compared to merely showing the last.

Lexmark CS417dn Review

Lexmark prices this printer for an optimum 40, 000 web pages monthly, and it feels quite well made. The overviews in the 250-sheet paper cassette feel uncommonly durable and move more efficiently compared to on many printers, but with A4 paper packed the cartridge extends fractionally from the rear of the printer, and there is no dirt cover.

The printer’s single-sheet bypass port is built right into the front of the cassette; offer it an envelope and it is pulled in slightly, ready for publishing, after that delivered perfectly right into the output tray with merely a small contour – there is no back hatch to permit a straight paper course.

The printer’s display becomes better when publishing when it shows the web page number being published as well as the progress if you are publishing several duplicates of the same document. The food selection system makes it easy to place a USB own, browse its components and print any kept documents. We had no good luck publishing from Lexmark’s Android application, but installing it’s Android publish solution functioned fine after we’d by hand entered the printer’s IP address. The printer also supports AirPrint for native publishing from iOS devices.

This printer’s printer toners are uncommon, settle boxes, with the high-yield variations ranked for 4, 000 black web pages and 3, 000 for cyan, magenta and yellow – we’d avoid the 1, 000-page ‘standard’ yield items. Calculated for printer toner alone, operating costs have to do with 10. 8p each black and colour web page. In essence, just in heavy use past 36, 000 web pages will you need to change the waste printer toner container, imaging and designer units, all who push the number up to about 11. 7p. Is high, but Lexmark was eager to explain its benefits program, which offers some free supplies to those that return invested cartridges for reuse.

This printer was very fast to deliver a black message, getting to 25. 4 web pages each min (ppm) in our tests, but colour publishing was slower using the default PostScript chauffeur. In essence, it slowed down to only 8. 9ppm in our graphics-rich analysis. Publish quality was excellent, with accurate colours generally, but we noticed a blue tint to our black and white picture. The message looked great to the nude eye, but zoom revealed blue darkness, recommending both that the printer had not been publishing directly with black printer toner, which its colour positioning needed tweaking. Overall there are great deals to suggest this printer, but high costs and some small niggles take the shine off it.
